Most of its life was in the area, and it’s only $182 below book value. Do not want

Suddenly grad school doesn’t seem that important.

Bank on it needing a major service.

I found this:

https://www.astonmartin.com/en/ownership/s…

It’s in British, and the highest I came up with was 1,161 lbs for service costs (the 50k + spark plugs + transaxle fluid). Convert that to US $, and round it up a bit to a nice even $2k.

I don’t see anything mentioned about the condition of the clutch, but it’s probably going to need to be done soon. Factor in $5k for that, conservatively basing on what I found online.

Then figure an extra $3k in stuff you probably can’t see or anticipate, for budgeting purposes, so you’ve got a $50k car and not a $40k one.

Not a bad deal, all things considered. I don’t think these are done depreciating yet though. There will be a wide range of them, depending on condition and maintenance records.

Drive one, but I’d highly suggest not. For $40,000 you could get A LOT more car.
